Yesterday at the Mule Monday morning check-in, Erika mentioned that Anil had set his IM status to “Let’s send Scooter to Gitmo” at some point over the weekend and how she thought that would make a good hardcore song. Okay. Here it is.

A couple of quick production notes:

  • I had invaluable lyrical help from a friend. The quick ideas that he sent me were not nearly so thuddingly simple as mine, but these fit better. Still, I couldn’t have done it without him.
  • I hadn’t actually played a hardcore song for several years. It’s easy to forget how hard it is to change chords really fast for a minute and a half, to say nothing of an entire set.
  • This is again recorded in GarageBand. I used a real mic for the vocals instead of the built-in one, which helped a lot.
  • The drums were not recorded by a real drummer, despite what I said on While the Gittin’ Good. I did them myself, so they’re super super simple. I’m sure Gord would have done something cooler, but I really wanted to bang this one out fast.
